Our Dream Holiday
The beginning, Praslin island Flying to the Seychelles, upon arrival you can already see the beautiful beaches and all shades of blue water from the sky. Making you more and more excited to finally set foot on Seychelles grounds! We started our dream holiday going to Praslin island, by ferry. The ferry ride was very enjoyable, waves, wind in your hair, seeing loads of beautiful islands along the way, while soaring over the turquoise waters. Arriving at our hotel, Chalets Cote Mer, we were blown away by the incredible view from our balcony, as well as from the gorgeous infinity pool. The staff is really welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Seeing that we were going to get married that week, the kind staff helped me get my dress ironed and ready for the big day.
We rented a car for the duration of our stay, also with the help of the staff from our hotel.
A very comfortable way to get around the island, and visit all the most beautiful spots. Some of our favorite places at Praslin included Anse Bateau, where we found a little private beach where we had a very relaxing afternoon, while enjoying the amazing scenery. And of course the well known beautiful Anse Lazio, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. We spent an evening sitting on a giant rock overlooking the ocean, while watching a stunning sunset at the edge of Anse Kerlan. Also the little boulevard-like area around Cote D’Or Esplanade was worth a few visits, we bought some souvenirs in the shops and we enjoyed some nice snacks and drinks at Pizzeria Berjaya Praslin Beach Hotel and the accompanying beach is lovely. Our big day arrived (28-09-2017) and we had a lovely romantic ceremony on the beach of Anse Boudin. We said our “I do’s” in the sunshine while overlooking the sea.
We couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect wedding!
Afterwards we drove to some of the most beautiful beaches around the island to take some pictures as memories of this memorable day. When we arrived back at our hotel we found our room beautifully decorated with flower petals and sweet decorations. La Digue Our holiday, or actually honeymoon now, continued at La Digue.
Our stay at Chalet Bamboo Vert was very comfortable and here also the staff was so kind and friendly. We had a lovely visitor in a local dog, who we gave water and food, and in return he gave us company at our veranda every day. We love animals so this was a welcome reminder of home. La Digue we explored by bicycle. During one of our trips on the bike, while discovering the north and east side of the island we stopped for a cocktail and a snack at Chez Jules, a very charming bar/restaurant along the way. A perfect spot to enjoy a drink while cooling down from the bike ride. Of course one of the most beautiful places to visit while on La Digue is Anse Source d'Argent, where you can find loads of breathtaking little beaches between the impressive rock formations. Roaming freely around the island you can find the giant land tortoises, a very special experience! During our stay on La Digue we also went on a boat trip, visiting a few nearby islands and special places to do some snorkeling. We visited the sister islands and Felicité island, absolutely unreal and an amazing experience. Mahé We concluded our holiday on the main island Mahé. We stayed at Villas Chez Batista, a dream-like place with incredible views and a nice swimming pool overlooking the ocean.
Anse Takamaka beach is a really beautiful beach where you can swim and snorkel when the sea is calm, and play in the waves when the sea is a little more rough. The sunsets are also really impressive here!
We only spent 4 days on Mahé, not nearly enough time to see all that the island has to offer. The friendly locals, the happy animals, the gorgeous scenery, the crystal white beaches and all the shades of blue you can imagine in the ocean, the Seychelles really are paradise on earth. We had the most memorable holiday ever, and we cannot wait to come back to these unreal fairytale-like islands.
