Stunning views of Curieuse and the wildlife-spotting opportunities provided by the beach. Thanks to the shallow water and the sandbanks at low tide, it’s possible to get up-close to some of the Seychelles bird and fish species here like few other places in the Seychelles. Anse Pasquière is a strange beach, with very shallow water that isn’t really deep enough for swimming. However, this shallow water means that it is a good spot to see some of the Seychelles’ beautiful wildlife, and ensures that Anse Pasquière is a good spot for picnics, as the beach is safe for all, including children. The beach is located in the north-east of Praslin, between Anse Boudin and Anse Possession. There are parking spaces cut into the nearby forest which provide space for arrival by car, and there are also bus stops along the adjacent road for those preferring to come by public transport. Finally, Anse Pasquière is within walking distance of some hotels, so guests of those establishments can come on-foot. As we’ve mentioned, the water here is extremely shallow, which means it’s difficult to swim in. However, the beach lends itself well to snorkelling, and the shallow water means that it’s perfectly safe for families. In fact, at the weekend, local families come here themselves to enjoy picnics on the sand. The beach is also a good spot for fans of nature, as the west-end of the beach is home to an abundance of fish and birds. The species of bird include the grey heron and the green-backed heron, both of whom come here to feed on the fish. It is particularly easy to spot various species at low tide, thanks to the sandbanks that appear. This is also the best time to go fly-fishing, standing on the banks and fishing in the shallow water. All in all, Anse Pasquière can best be described as a ‘natural’ beach, thanks to its abundance of wildlife, especially at the west-end of the beach. The beach also makes up part of the Curieuse Bay Marine park, so visitors should be especially careful to respect the environment here. However, the beautiful scenery of the Seychelles will convince you to take care of it by itself, and Anse Pasquière is no exception.
