The islands of the Seychelles
The Seychelles are a group of islands in the Indian Ocean, between 480 and 1,600km from the east coast of Africa. Despite this distance from the mainland, the country politically belongs to Africa. The Seychelles consist of 115 islands, 42 of which are called granite islands and 73 coral islands. These islands are in turn divided into the so-called Inner Islands and the Outer Islands. The Seychelles are also divided into 25 different regions, all of which are located in the Inner Islands.
Main Islands (3)
The three main islands of the Seychelles - Mahé, Praslin and La Digue - impress with spectacular nature, beautiful beaches and are perfect for getting to know the real Seychelles and its islanders. The three islands are connected by ferries and should definitely be on your Seychelles bucket list!
