The beautiful, wild landscape makes this beach a great prospect for photographers. Anse Bazarca is located in the south of Mahé, near to Police Bay and Petit Police Bay. Unlike many other Seychelles beaches, the ocean here is rather deep, and the waves crash against the shore with more force than on other beaches. Therefore, Anse Bazarca shouldn’t be on your list if you’re looking for the ideal beach to swim or snorkel at, but in terms of beauty and atmosphere, Anse Bazarca has enough to offer to make it worth a visit. Getting to the beach is simple thanks to the road that runs alongside the beach. There is also parking and a bus stop close to Anse Bazarca, ensuring that, no matter how you decide to travel around Mahé, you will be able to get to this beach with ease. What awaits you there depends slightly on the time of year you go. From June to September, the sand recedes slightly, revealing some old coral reef formations that line the beach. From October until May, the sand covers these formations almost entirely. In terms of activities, Anse Bazarca does not have much to offer, as the water is too deep and rough to swim safely. There are, however, shops and restaurants nearby at Takamaka, ensuring that the beach is not completely void of facilities. This location is also a breeding site for turtles, with many tagged turtle nests lining the beach, lending a natural atmosphere to the area. However, please note that you should not disturb the turtles or use flash-photography, as this disrupts their wellbeing. Please also refrain from hindering their path back to the ocean in any way. Not the most complete beach by any means, Anse Bazarca nonetheless offers a few interesting points to make it worth a visit. This stretch of coastline can even be explored as a whole, taking in Petit Police and Grand Police Bay on the same day, and the easy-access ensures that this is possible wherever you are staying on Mahé.
