The level of privacy and solitude that you can find here is exceptional, as the island is so small and the beach itself is usually deserted. Anse la Fontaine is one of the few beaches located on Cerf Island, a small satellite island of Mahé, situated in the Sainte Anne Marine Park. As with the island’s other beaches, the water at Anse la Fontaine is shallow, usually measuring just one metre in depth. However, at high tide, the water creeps up the beach further, and sometimes covers the sand completely, so that the beach disappears under the water. Cerf Island is so small that it is easy to reach the island’s beaches from any of the island’s hotels and guesthouses. Alternatively, the beach can be reached by boat. Anyone who makes their way to Anse la Fontaine will likely find the beach to be deserted, making this the ideal spot for a relaxing day in peace, quiet, and solitude. Those who are feeling more adventurous can try snorkelling or swimming in the water, or even try their hand at a spot of fishing.
