Anse à la Mouche is an open, curved bay in the south-west of Mahé with extremely flat, calm, shallow water, as well as beautiful scenery and a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Great for families, snorkelling, and swimming, the beach is rarely empty, but never crowded.

Anse aux Pins is a long, shallow bay on the east coast of Mahé, the Seychelles’ largest island. With nearby shops and restaurants, as well as a 9-hole golf course, the surrounding area offers plenty to keep you busy during your visit to this beautiful bay.

Anse Baleine is a small, oft-deserted beach in the south-east of Mahé. The shallow water and calm waves that lap the shores here create a relaxing, laid-back atmosphere, evidenced by the locals who often come here at the weekend to enjoy a beach picnic.

Anse Boileau is a long, stretched bay on the west coast of Mahé, just north of Anse à la Mouche. The surrounding region is relatively built-up, including a police station, shops, guesthouses, and supermarkets, and the beach itself offers calm, shallow water that is great for swimming, snorkelling, and windsurfing.

Anse Bougainville lies in the south-east of Mahé, near to Anse Baleine and Anse Royale. The shallow, calm water here is protected by a coral reef, making it suitable for unconfident swimmers and children. The beach also benefits from close proximity to shops and restaurants.

Anse Forbans is a popular beach in the south-east of the Seychelles’ largest island, Mahé. With shallow water and close proximity to a number of accommodations, this beach is great prospect for families who have children looking for a relaxing beach day.

Anse L’Ilot is rather difficult to find, hidden behind the thick vegetation in the north-west of Mahé. That said, for anyone who manages to reach the beach, there is a beautiful, serene, undisturbed bay just waiting to be discovered. Just make sure you go at low tide, as the beach can disappear completely at high tide!

Anse Louis is a beautiful sheltered bay in the west of Mahé, near to Anse Boileau. The waves here make the beach a great location for surfers, and the nearby bus stop and car park ensure that arrival at Anse Louis is unproblematic for everyone.

Anse Marie-Louise is situated in the south-east of Mahé, right next to Anse Forbans. While not particularly well-known amongst tourists, it’s not uncommon to see small groups of locals here, either enjoying picnics or a few drinks on this beautiful sandy beach.

Anse Parnel is less famous than other beaches on Mahé but every bit as charming and beautiful. With gorgeous white sand and stunning clear water, Anse Parnel offers plenty to keep the Seychelles holidaymaker occupied.

Anse Royale is one of Mahé’s most popular beaches thanks to its wide variety of activities, beautiful scenery, and proximity to a number of different hotels and guesthouses. Located in the south-east of Mahé, it could even be described as the Beau Vallon of the south, due to its excellent range of activities and facilities.

Anse Soleil is a beautiful bay with crystal-clear water and pristine white sand. As the name suggests, this beach is often bathed in sunlight, making it a bright, welcoming prospect for your holiday on Mahé.

Anse Takamaka is a beautiful, picturesque bay in the south-west of Mahé. Here, visitors can enjoy pristine sand and incredible turquoise water, as well as the stunning takamaka trees that give the beach its name. Finally, Anse Takamaka is a snorkelling paradise.

Baie Lazare is well-known thanks to its name, which it shares with French explorer Lazare Picault, who is credited with claiming the island for France in 1742. These days, it offers beautiful scenery and a vision of colour for the Seychelles holidaymaker.

Beau Vallon is perhaps the most famous beach in the Seychelles, well-known throughout the country by locals and tourists alike thanks to its beautiful atmosphere, extensive facilities, stunning sandy surface, and proximity to some of the Seychelles’ best-loved accommodations.

Carana Beach can be found in the north of Mahé. This small, oft-deserted bay possesses incredibly beautiful scenery, including lush vegetation, crystal-clear water, and perfect white sand. Beyond its looks, the beach doesn’t offer too much, but its picturesque air makes it well-worth a visit.

Grand Anse on Mahé is one of the island’s longest beaches, and certainly the longest stretch of sand on Mahé's western coast. The beautiful beach scenery contrasts nicely with the surrounding mountainous landscape, making for a truly spectacular location. The nearby Avani Barbarons Resort offers restaurants and much more.

Anse Nord d'Est is best described as a collection of small beaches spread across two kilometres of coastline on Mahé. The water here is deeper than many other places on the island, and the sea is choppy due to the lack of offshore coral reef. This makes it a good beach for surfers, although it is still suitable for strong swimmers.

Northolme Beach is the small, private beach of the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and Spa, and is almost exclusively frequented by patrons of the resort. This bisected beach is suitable for swimming and especially good for snorkelling, with equipment rentals available to guests of the resort.

Pointe au Sel is the name for this peninsular that juts out of the eastern coast of Mahé. The water here is shallow and calm, and the atmosphere of the beach in general is peaceful and relaxing. Suitable for swimming, snorkelling, and windsurfing, this beach perhaps best serves as a quiet spot for couples or families to enjoy a picnic.

Port Glaud Beach is a small and oft-deserted beach, located on Mahé’s west coast, just along from the large national park of Port Launay. In fact, the beach shares much of the appeal of Port Launay’s south beach, with calm, shallow water, beautiful scenery, and stunning views of some of Mahé’s nearby neighbouring islands.

North Beach in the Port Launay Marine Park is located close to one of Mahé’s most popular resorts, the Constance Ephelia. Thanks to this, it is very popular with guests of the resort, but anyone can find something to keep them busy here thanks to the incredible beauty of the bay, as well as multiple activities and good facilities.

South Beach in the Port Launay Marine Park is less popular than the beach on the other side of the park, but still offers plenty to attract visitors from all over the island. The unique views of smaller offshore islands, as well as the calm, shallow water and the pristine sandy surface of the beach make South Beach every bit as appealing as its cousin.

Fairyland Beach is located at one end of the larger Anse Royale bay, and shares many characteristics with its neighbour. The shallow, calm water here is protected by an offshore coral reef, so the waves are almost always small. Easy-access, beautiful scenery, and excellent snorkelling conditions round off the beach nicely.

Sunset Beach is a small yet popular beach, located in the north-west of Mahé, close to the Sunset Beach Hotel. With picturesque scenery, crystal-clear water, and nearby shops and restaurants, there are a number of reasons to take a trip to Sunset Beach during your stay on Mahé.

Turtle Bay is a popular, shallow-watered beach in the south of Mahé, on the east coast of the island. Thanks to the offshore coral reef, the water here is protected, making it extremely flat and calm, perfect for swimming and snorkelling. This beach shares its bay with Anse aux Pins.

Tusculum Beach is a small, beautiful beach in the north-west of Mahé, about 1.5km north of Beau Vallon. With nearby shops and accommodation, easy-access thanks to proximity to the main road, and beautiful scenery, there is much to like about this small beach, making a trip well worthwhile.

Glacis Beach is more two beaches than one, with the two distinct sections separated from each other by rocky formations. The water here is deeper than elsewhere, but still safe for swimming and snorkelling. There is also an excellent view of Beau Vallon and Silhouette Island from the beach.

Anse Marie Laure is a small beach in the north-west of Mahé. Due to its close proximity to the island’s most popular beach, Beau Vallon, Anse Marie Laure is virtually always deserted, lending it a peaceful, quiet atmosphere that stands out compared with the other beaches in the area.

Baie Ternay beach is located in the Baie Ternay Marine National Park. This area is well-known for its beautiful underwater scenery, so the beach is particularly popular amongst snorkellers. With relatively easy-access thanks to its close proximity to Port Launay, Baie Ternay is well-worth a visit if you’re in the area.
