Unique location with a great view of the sea and the surrounding area, spectacular pool. The accommodation cannot be reached without a car, access via a very steep and winding road. The accommodation has neither a restaurant nor a bar. The kitchen equipment is inadequate. The breakfast was not particularly extensive, the service was attentive, very friendly but not particularly routine.

High above the sea with a fantastic view of the Baie Beau Vallon, a first-class hotel with great rooms (ocean view), a beautiful pool area and a good spirit (Thomas). The journey there is a bit of an adventure, a rental car is highly recommended.

Full description

Calm, private, and wonderfully comfortable: the modern Sorento Sur Mer guesthouse on the north-west coast of Mahé lives up to all of that and more. It is located not only on a clifftop, but also right by the ocean, so the views are simply stunning. From the terrace or the balcony of your apartment, you can enjoy views of the mountains in Glacis, the tropical garden, or even of the Indian Ocean itself. The communal infinity pool is perhaps the best spot to see the ocean from, or you can relax on one of the comfortable sun-loungers on the terrace and enjoy your surroundings.

The air-conditioned apartments are modern and tasteful with a maritime island flair. Chic furniture, bright tile flooring, plenty of light, inviting colours, and tasteful decorative elements ensure that the interior is charming and comfortable, allowing you to feel right at home during your stay. The bedrooms with their comfortable, large beds are also impressive and rounded off by the bathrooms. In some of the apartments, you can even see the ocean directly from your bathtub. Walk-in showers and bidets are also available in all of the bathrooms. The partially communal living rooms offer comfortable sofas for a cosy TV evening, while the apartments that contain private kitchens are also open-plan.

The legendary beach of Beau Vallon is just 5 km away by car. Here, you can try out various watersports or swim in the water. It’s even ideal for kids as the water is very shallow here. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops. Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles, has plenty to discover. Victoria, the capital, is just 7.7 km away by car. This lively city doesn’t really compare with larger European cities, but rather offers a different charm where you can walk peacefully through the streets and past colourful houses, pay a visit to the market and enjoy fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, or round off the day at the harbour with a delicious cocktail. Those who love nature will also find plenty to enjoy on Mahé. Besides the fantastic beaches, there are various hiking trails that will offer you insights into the plant and animal life of the Seychelles.
