The first impression was overwhelming, but a second look was a little sobering. Of course the staff at reception were always friendly and accommodating, but that was about it. We missed the usual warmth and cheerfulness that we had experienced in the previous 2 weeks on Praslin and La Digue, especially in the restaurant, the staff here seemed rather grumpy and stressed...a real shame. Perhaps the management should rework a few things... One positive thing was the possibility of using the sister hotel (great beach, as there was none in Fisherman's Cove...)

The hotel is a bit old and cannot be compared to other 5-star hotels. So far it is the only hotel I have come across that has sockets in the rooms that are so old that you cannot plug in Euro plugs. The hotel does not have its own beach but it has a lovely pool with a view of the sea. You can walk to the nearby Beau Vallon beach (in November there was quite a lot of seaweed). Unfortunately the gate to this side entrance closes at 7pm so you have to take a detour along the road if you come back later in the evening. I would recommend this hotel for a few days or as a starting point for excursions with a rental car, but not for a longer beach holiday.

Good but this 5 star hotel lacks staff at the reception for Check in! An hour of waiting to get our room, unacceptable at this level. The customer upon arrival only wants to settle in and enjoy. Well, we got an upgrade as a result, which calmed us down
